Social Impact and Citizenship
Social responsibility is a core concept in LBC’s culture, strategy, and practices. It is one of the intrinsic characteristics of who we are. For us, social responsibility is, above all, an ethical approach to our relationships with society and the external entities with which we interact: customers, suppliers, partners, government institutions, among others, and in internal management (employees and shareholders).
Set of values
Social responsibility is also a set of values that we adopt as a practical guideline for our daily work. At LBC, we see management consulting and related activities as a way to contribute to economic and social development by supporting businesses and public entities. Better organizations create more jobs, greater wealth, a better quality of life, and better and greater socio-economic development. Similarly, better public administration creates better public and social services, better protection for citizens, more transparency, more equity and social justice, greater stability, etc.
Trusted advisors
We work to ensure that our clients see us as “trusted advisors”, whom they turn to when they have a problem, a challenge, an opportunity, or an ambition, rather than as an entity with a purely commercial agenda interested in simply selling services. In other words, we want our partners to recognize our broader sense of responsibility.
Best Leader Awards
We believe that leadership is a fundamental process for the development of companies, public administration, and countries. For this reason, we have organized the Best Leader Awards (BLA), an initiative that aims to recognize leaders who excel in various fields. Having already awarded around 40 Portuguese-speaking personalities, the BLA aims to promote the importance of leadership in organizations and stimulate the development of new leaders.
Best Student Leader Award
Integral part of Best Leader Awards, the Best Student Leader Award comes in association with the Lisbon MBA (joint venture between Nova SBE and Católica Lisbon SBE). This distinction recognizes and rewards the best Lisbon MBA student with the highest level of development of leadership skills.
Competence center
Portal da Liderança (Leadership Portal) is part of a commitment to knowledge sharing. This online platform, aimed at the Portuguese-speaking leadership community spread across the globe, is dedicated to promoting leadership, leaders, and the information and knowledge necessary for greater effectiveness, success, and happiness for leaders and the organizations they lead. We are focused on supporting leaders or those who aspire to be leaders.
Basic Consulting Skills
As part of its contribution to the economic and social growth of the markets where it operates, LBC offers the Basic Consulting Skills course in those countries, based on the training it provides to its consultants. This three-day training program, framed within LBC’s social responsibility policy, is aimed at young professionals or high-potential managers, equipping participants with the skills, methodologies, and tools used in management consulting, thus contributing to their development as value-added professionals highly oriented towards achieving results. It is an initiative that benefits from high-level local partnerships.
Startups in Silicon Valley
We promote entrepreneurial values in society through our work and volunteer efforts. For example, we sponsor the acceleration of numerous startups in Silicon Valley, in the U.S.
