O sistema magn\u00e9tico mais complexo do International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) \u2013 o maior reator de fus\u00e3o nuclear do globo \u2013 est\u00e1 conclu\u00eddo. O megaprojeto experimental de fus\u00e3o nuclear ITER \u2013 que imita o processo que alimenta o sol e as estrelas e fornece luz e calor \u00e0 Terra \u2013 assinalou em julho de 2024 a entrega de 19 bobinas de campo toroidais, que fazem parte do seu sistema magn\u00e9tico. A investiga\u00e7\u00e3o sobre fus\u00e3o nuclear tem como meta desenvolver uma fonte de energia segura, abundante e sustent\u00e1vel.

O ITER<\/a>, em constru\u00e7\u00e3o no Sul de Fran\u00e7a, \u00e9 uma colabora\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica de mais de 30 parceiros, e constitui a maior experi\u00eancia no \u00e2mbito da energia de fus\u00e3o<\/a>. Envolve, al\u00e9m da Uni\u00e3o Europeia (UE), a China, o Jap\u00e3o, a \u00cdndia, a Coreia do Sul, a R\u00fassia e os EUA. No continente europeu, a Fusion for Energy (F4E) \u00e9 a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o da UE que gere a contribui\u00e7\u00e3o da Europa (respons\u00e1vel por quase metade do projeto) para o ITER.

A F4E<\/a>, com sede em Barcelona e escrit\u00f3rios na Alemanha e em Fran\u00e7a, tem como objetivo realizar o potencial da energia de fus\u00e3o na Europa, atrav\u00e9s de projetos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e de desenvolvimento; do desenvolvimento de reatores de fus\u00e3o de demonstra\u00e7\u00e3o para posterior industrializa\u00e7\u00e3o; e da disponibiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de conhecimento t\u00e9cnico a parceiros na academia, na investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e na ind\u00fastria.

As bobinas entregues, provenientes do Jap\u00e3o e da Europa, s\u00e3o componentes-chave do ITER. Cada bobina, com 17 metros de altura e nove metros de di\u00e2metro, pesa cerca de 360 toneladas. Em conjunto, funcionam como um \u00edman (o mais potente alguma vez produzido) e geram uma energia magn\u00e9tica total de 41 gigajoules. O campo magn\u00e9tico do ITER ser\u00e1 cerca de 250.000 vezes mais forte que o da Terra. Oito bobinas, e uma de reserva, foram fabricadas em solo nip\u00f3nico, sob gest\u00e3o do ITER Jap\u00e3o. As restantes dez bobinas foram produzidas na Europa, sob a al\u00e7ada da empresa comum F4E.

Na F4E em Barcelona, a automa\u00e7\u00e3o dos processos de backoffice est\u00e1, desde 2017 e em cont\u00ednuo, a cargo da LBC<\/a>, empresa portuguesa de gest\u00e3o e transforma\u00e7\u00e3o digital.
