The Nova School of Business and Economics campus was the setting for a special moment in September 2025: The Lisbon MBA Heroes Awards, organized by The Lisbon MBA Alumni Club. The event brought together alumni, students, partners, and friends in a celebration dedicated to the leaders who are transforming the world of business and society.
Among the award winners, the moment held particular significance for LBC: its CEO, Carlos Oliveira, was honored with the “Community Award 2025” – a recognition that celebrates more than a decade of consistent support for the Leadership Challenge, an initiative that brings academia closer to innovation and trains leaders prepared for global challenges.
LBC and The Lisbon MBA partnership trains global leaders.
For over ten years, LBC and The Lisbon MBA – Católica | Nova have shared a common purpose: to develop leaders who combine ambition with awareness and vision with impact.
The Lisbon MBA is today one of the most prestigious programs in Portugal, internationally recognized for its rigor and quality. For the fourth consecutive year, it is among the world's Top 100 executive MBAs and is considered the best program of its kind in Portugal, ranking 61st globally and 37th in Europe, according to the ranking by the British newspaper Financial Times.
In this context of excellence, the partnership between LBC and The Lisbon MBA reflects a shared vision of leadership and innovation. Every year, the winner of The Lisbon MBA's Best Student Leader award is invited to experience a transformative week in Silicon Valley, as part of the GSI – Global Strategic Innovation executive program.
This connection to the world's innovation capital is also part of LBC's DNA, which has maintained an innovation lab in Silicon Valley since 2009, reinforcing its global reach and commitment to linking European strategic thinking to the entrepreneurial spirit of the Californian ecosystem.
This partnership, built on trust, sharing, and a long-term vision, has inspired dozens of talented individuals and strengthened the bridge between academia and the business world. For LBC, investing in the development of global leaders is not only a gesture of recognition but also a commitment to the future, to innovation, and to the ability to generate human and social value through leadership.
Inspiring the future through leadership
The “Community Award 2025” represents, above all, the recognition of a path sustained by collaboration and belief in the transformative power of the community. The distinction awarded to Carlos Oliveira is also a tribute to LBC's vision as a company that, for more than two decades, has sought to align strategy, innovation, and human impact in the projects it undertakes.
At a time when leadership is increasingly being put to the test, LBC reaffirms its commitment to supporting and inspiring the next generation of leaders – those who see people and ideas as the true engine of transformation.
LBC congratulates all the winners and nominees of this year's Heroes Awards – examples of talent, impact, and leadership that inspire the future.
