In this leadership challenge, the winner is awarded a unique opportunity to immerse themselves, over the course of a week, in the largest global cluster of innovation and entrepreneurship that is Silicon Valley, through free access to GSI Program – Global Strategic Innovation, conducted by LBC in the Bay Area, including travel and accommodation.
From the perspective of senior executives and entrepreneurs, the GSI is structured around four components: training in strategic innovation; direct interaction with companies and specialists who are champions of innovation, university professors and entrepreneurs; contact with business incubators and accelerators and start-ups; and also the possibility of expanding the networking of its participants to the highest level.
Selecting the Leadership Challenge winner involves three steps:
1. Put your best foot forward
Election among peers, in which MBA students choose five finalists taking into account the leadership skills worked on by The Lisbon MBA.
2. Step up your game
In the second stage of the Leadership Challenge, the five finalists, and the support teams (between four and six elements) selected among their MBA colleagues, participate in a crisis management game, where they have the possibility to put their leadership skills into practice and making decisions under pressure. Of the five selected, three go on to the next stage.
3. Inspire us with your character and skills
The third and final stage consists of presenting the leadership pitch, followed by a demanding interview based on LBC's effective leadership model, with a selected jury, in which the winner of the Leadership Challenge is decided.
The LBC model of effective leadership is focused on six components and serves as the base criteria for phases 2 and 3 of the process. The effective leader:

- It develops personal skills of character, such as integrity and courage.
- Focused on delivering results
- Innovate and increase organizational capacity
- Attracts, inspires and manages talent, developing other leaders
- Is competent in the business of your organization
