BNI Europa needed to optimize several internal processes fast without much organizational and technological effort and investment.
Robust digitalization strategy
Internationally recognized as the “Most Innovative Bank in Portugal 2016”, “Best Digital Bank Portugal in 2016” and “Best New Internet Bank in Portugal 2016”, BNI Europa wanted a digitally advanced solution and an agile implementation.
For LBC this called for an implementation of a BPM - Business Process Management platform reliable and easy-to-use in the bank with the capability to incorporate incrementally RPA (robotic process automation) and AI (artificial intelligence), as needed in future by the bank. Furthermore, LBC should develop a selection of five processes as a showcase to get buy-in by the bank employees and for the bank’s technology department to learn about BPM (and then become autonomous).
This project also needed to be integrated within a robust digitalization strategy, focused on a strategic vision, a BPM program with clear KPIs and pragmatic implementation of digitalization of a wave of processes, selected following clear criteria.
Automate and improve
LBC selected Genpact’s Cora Sequence BPM platform, which was a key factor of success due to its technological reliability, development flexibility and easy to use functionalities.
The digital transformation framework developed by LBC and the Cora Sequence Platform enabled the bank to automate and improve five administrative processes within a few weeks, adding auditing, monitoring and reporting capabilities.
Due to the characteristics of the platform and the methodology used, the bank’s team was also able to integrate into daily operations the developed process and to build their own business processes internally very quickly.
According to Ruben Simões, head of the information technology department at BNI Europa, LBC’s approach and the Cora Sequence Platform “enabled us to automate and improve administrative processes very fast within a few weeks and with no operational disruption”.
Mike O’Donoghue, Genpact’s vice-president for global partnerships and alliances, adds that "LBC guarantees continued value-added services for our customers”.
LBC's methodologies and tools assist business and the public sector to digitalize with success and low operational stress.
