Streamlining the structure of an Angolan tourism entity

modernizar turismo

LBC supported the angolan Infotur - Instituto de Fomento Turístico (tourism promotion institute) in the creation and implementation of the entity’s modernization and administrative organization program.

Goal setting

In terms of verifying tourism revenue sources, LBC established a new licensing model for tourism companies (with an analysis of existing models in Angola and Portugal – process, required documentation, prices, inspection and control model, etc.). Among others, Leadership defined future revenue objectives in view of the increase in the tourist offer, by province, and that would constitute a commitment by Infotur before the State; and identified, for example, activities that can generate revenue in order to propose new ways of charging fees.

As for improving internal efficiency, it was achieved through the implementation of a new organization, with faster and modernized processes, service levels for performing acts requested by citizens and companies, communication at all levels of the organization, among others. These processes have been accompanied by the upgrading of the service to the public, with better-quality and more speed, and with its own facilities (in connection to the Guichet Único do Turismo).

Planning

In terms of technological modernization, this was achieved through collaborative platforms and processes automation.

The project, in line with the angolan Government’s vision for the future of the tourism sector in the country, also involved planning and equipping the front office for the kick off of the Guichet Único do Turismo (GUT), as well as the elaboration of GUT’s internal rules (thus providing the organization with the basic tools for its development).
